Virtual Companion

A fully animated character appears on your screen, providing visual feedback during AI interactions. The companion responds with expressions and gestures, making your browsing experience more interactive and engaging.

What is the Virtual Companion?

The companion is an animated character model that:

  • Shows different states (idle, thinking, speaking)
  • Provides lip-synced speech during Text-to-Speech playback
  • Can be positioned anywhere on screen via dragging

Display Modes

Full Body Mode

Shows the entire character model:

  • Complete animations and gestures
  • More immersive visual presence
  • Best for larger screens
  • Default mode

Portrait Mode

Shows upper body only:

  • Focuses on face and expressions
  • Better for laptops or smaller displays
  • Enable in UI Settings

Positioning

Dragging

Click and hold the companion to drag it anywhere on screen:

  • Works in both full body and portrait modes
  • Position is saved automatically when using "Last Location" preset

Position Presets

Choose from predefined positions in UI Settings:

  • Bottom Right - Default chatbot position
  • Bottom Left - Mirror of bottom right
  • Bottom Center - Centered at bottom
  • Top Right - Upper right corner
  • Top Left - Upper left corner
  • Top Center - Centered at top
  • Center - Large centered view for development
  • Last Location - Remembers your custom drag position

Each preset automatically adjusts for full body and portrait modes.

Interaction

Drag Content to Companion

Drag text or images from webpages directly onto the companion to start a chat with that content as context.

Customization

All customization options are in UI Settings:

  • Enable/Disable - Toggle companion on/off
  • Display Mode - Full body or portrait
  • Position - Choose preset or drag to custom location
  • FPS Limit - Control animation performance

Performance

The companion is optimized for performance:

  • Adjustable FPS limits (30/60/90/native)
  • Lower FPS settings save battery on laptops
  • Only active in current tab
